Ciarán Power took the latest in a run of good results on Sunday when he placed seventh in the 1.2-ranked Omloop der Kempen in the Netherlands.
The Team Pezula Racing professional sprinted in as part of a large front group, finishing in the same time as the winner Job Vissers (Dommelstreek).
“There were a few pave sections in the race and over the last one, things broke up a good bit. There ended up being 50 or 60 riders in front. We caught the three leading riders with three kilometres to go.
“Then it came down to the crazy sprint again. It was good to get over 200km done again, and the legs feel good for the coming month’s races.”
Power will next line out in the FBD Insurance Rás, which begins in Navan next Sunday. He has won two previous editions of the race.
Frank van Kuik and his Irish An Post M. Donnelly Grant Thornton Sean Kelly team-mate Stephen Gallagher were also in the main bunch, placing 31st and 39th respectively.
