LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: SEYMOUR SET FOR BEIJING

Dear Editor,

I have been around the road scene on and off since 1962 and was never at a mountain bike race in my life (shame on me). We all know Robin Seymour is the MAN in mountain biking and I was happy for him when I saw the picture of him holding up his bike and being picked for next Olympics.

When I started to read about last Sundays race and interview with words popping out like "TIRED FROM SETTING UP THE COURSE" and later in the article "WORKING FULL TIME", how can we still expect him to bring home a medal from Beijing.

Now, this is a 2008 cyclist, not one from 1962, a time you'd think the interview came from, so its time for everybody in Cycling Ireland to rally around this GREAT MAN and see he wants for nothing from now till the olympics.

Yours in cycling,

Joe Roche.
