Adam Armstrong of the newly formed Pezula Racing Team was by far the most tactical when it came to winning the Des Hanlon Hanlon Memorial yesterday in Carlow.

| Adam Armstrong leads the initial 12 man breakaway group |
Initially a 12-man group went ahead of the bunch on the first lap. They dictated the pace which left the chasers at a disadvantage mainly because they worked well together thus eliminating anyone from making the junction to the dozen ahead on the road. Also the course was one of the toughest of the year, which was not to everybody’s hopes and aspirations.
Going out the final circuit the group had been reduced to five and they eventually went on to sprint out for the spoils of the day.

It was a case now as the quintet clocked down the miles that the advantage weighed heavily in favour of Armstrong and Ryan Connor both members of the Pezula Racing team. True to form they used this advantage, thus gaming the upper hand,
In the dash to the line it was Armstrong who took the honours ahead of Peter Hawkins of the Usher Irish Road Club with Sean Lacey of EuroBaby/EuroCycles and from Tralee back in third spot.
