The Connacht Mountain Bike Spring League Round 3 took place in Belleek Wood, Ballina, and Co.Mayo on Sunday last. Belleek Wood is in close proximity to the town of Ballina and is a great recreation area for the locality. The turn out on the day was good and the weather held until the last race but all enjoyed the course set by Paul Dunne and Simon Walsh.
Morgan Walsh Roberts Galway Bay was again strong in the under 10 section and Lydia Sheridan, Covey Wheelers was top in the ladies Shane Mulchrone Covey Wheelers held off Mark Finnerty Western Lakes in under 12 while Edel Burke Innishfree, was best lady.
Gavin Burke Innishfree was very strong in under 14 section, Under 16 was a good race, Paul Curley Realt taking it from Duirmuid Hughes, Covey Wheelers. Junior section was a close race, William Sheridan Covey Wheelers holding off James Brady, Covey Wheelers. Senior Expert, Paul Dunne Castlebar was very strong and, Michael Forde took the Sport section.
