Tour director Eamonn Duffy said after the conclusion of the Tour of Ireland 2007, after the excitement of Fridays opening stage where we saw most of the cyclists pushing much too hard, on the rest of the event we witnessed the application of common sense.
We orchestrated a new strategy where we divided the Pele-ton into 3 working teams: David Lloyd, Alastair Irvine and Matt Dowling led their different teams which resulted in everybody cycling within their own ability, while at the same time enjoying what turned out to be a tough, undulating and simply the best Irish cycling challenge.
For the tour management the most important issue was Health and Safety and throughout the event we witnessed that of the highest order from all participants, the NCBI Blazing Saddles support team once again provided a top class support structure. We would like to thank the entire support team for such a great contribution which made the event be as the title states "Simply the Best!"
So to echo the thoughts and words of our title sponsor Kellogg’s there has been plenty of “SNAP, CRACKLE and POP” in this Kellogg’s Tour of Ireland 2007, and we are looking forward to 2008 challenge which will be Grreat!!!
