(By Ben Shorten June 9) BETH McCLUSKEY (Cycling Ireland) battled against the heavy rain and the hazardous muddy course to come in smiling on 9th June 2002. She had just taken third place behind SUE THOMAS and JENNY COPNALL in the Elite Women Category (BCF NPS3). There was a gap of ten minutes to the fourth placed rider. She said she enjoyed the race despite the heavy going. She now has 116 points in this series following her two consecutive fifth placings at Catton Hall in May and Thetford Forest in April this year.
GLENN KINNING (X-MTB) riding in the Expert Men category found his race was over early when he unfortunately punctured twice in the first lap after having established an early lead of twenty seconds. . . . Pictures copyright bshorten@btinternet.com 2002
