Leisure & Touring Events What's On Dublin Bay Charity Cycle 2500 took part on Sunday 21st May 2000 See over 100 pictures of the event Here >> Funcycle Website: http://www.funcycle.com/ The Wicklow 200 was on Sunday 18th June. - Almost 700 cyclists took part Bray Wheelers on Sun 3rd September. Sign on is 8 to 9 am The classic route is 100k and follows the Shay Elliott Memorial route from Bray to Aughrim and back over Glenmalure Climb. The sports route cuts out the climb and goes to Rathdrum, Laragh and back to Bray. The event is in aid of The entry fee is £10 and all finishers will get a T Shirt and Certificate. Millennium Cycle Start / sign-on @ Portlaoise Rugby club 8:30am Participants have a choice of three distances, 200k / 100k / 15k family run. The tour is being hosted by the recently formed St. Peters Cycling club Portlaoise, Laois tourism, and the Federation of Irish Cyclists. The tour will raise funds for the Medical Research Unit of Crumlin Children's Hospital. Refreshments, showers, plus full backup support, and ambulance provided. The route is out from Tallaght, through Punchestown, and Kilcullen before turning east for the checkpoint at Dunlavin (approx. 30 miles) where refreshments will be available. The homeward route is through Ballymore Eustace so there are no mountain climbs involved, and just one steep hill, otherwise its relatively flat. Total distance approx. 60 miles. While its not a fun run it would be suitable for less experienced cyclists as the allocated time for the spin is 6 hours. Each participant will receive a souvenir medal. Entry form Click Here |
