The vets group got a two minute handicap. At the end of the first lap Dave Peelo and G. Swinard U.S.A. left the bunch and caught the vets starting the second lap. By the end of the second lap only Tosh Lavery was left with these two as the group split due to some punctures,  They had a lead of 30seconds.On lap 3 Shane Baker and Anto Moran got away and dangled at 10 seconds behind the break for miles. It looked like they were losing it until Swinard punctured and the front lost momentum and at the start of the last lap they were four.  Brian Lennon, Mark Kiernan and Karl Donnelly set of in pursuit. The four leaders still had 30 seconds. On the last drag Shane Baker left the others and soloed to a 10 seconds victory. The sprint for second was won by Dave Peelo from Anto Moran and Tosh Lavery. Aiden Crowley left the bunch on the last lap and caught the chasers and was only piped by Brian Lennon for 5th place. The prize presentation was held at the Brittas inn afterwards.
